(Note: The notes below certain publications identify those that have had an impact to alter, in some manner, the practice of allergy/immunology over the course of time, or to provide some historical perspective.)
(Note: This was a controversial paper which went against the dogma that all forms of rhinitis were allergic in causation. It was accompanied by an editorial by Dr. Mullarky criticizing the name NARES which made the paper more dominant. It was an essential publication that led to the official recognition of non-allergic forms of rhinitis which changed the practice of allergy. It has stood the test of time and now has been cited 241 times by other articles.)
(Note: This is this most cited paper (331) which not only changed the practice of allergy, but of pulmonary medicine, cardiology, family medicine. and emergency medicine. It has also stood the test of time and been confirmed by several other authors.)
(Note: This paper debunked the long-held view that true allergy to Tetanus toxoid was a common problem. We were able to show in an enormous number of patients that the only true allergy was delayed hypersensitivity to mercury in the preservative. This paper was published in the JAMA edition in Germany, Japan, and Russia. Very high publication in JAMA. 145 citations in English Literature)
