Mike received his MD degree from the University of Colorado School of Medicine. He trained in pediatrics at David Grant USAF Medical Center. He served as a general pediatrician at Aviano AFB in Italy before  his fellowship at National Jewish in Denver, CO. He served at Malcolm Grow USAF Medical Center from 1981 to 1985. He was selected for a staff position at the Wilford Hall Allergy/Immunology training program in 1985 and was elevated to the Chief position in 1986 and served until retirement in 1989.
