Roy served as the National Consultant for the Allergy/Immunology Fellowship Program from 1965 to 1972 when that program was discontinued. He was the Chairman of the Allergy/Immunology Department at Northwestern University Medical School until his death in 2002. He spent a week each year in San Antonio, until 1972, auditing the program. He was the editor of one of the first text books on allergic diseases with the chapter on Allergic Rhinitis edited by James I. Tannenbaum, a former staff at WHMC.
