Ted received his MD degree from the University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine. He did his internal medicine residency at Keesler USAF Medical Center. He did he allergy/immunology fellowship at Wilford Hall USAF Medical Center and his DLI training at Harvard Medical School. He severed on the teaching staff before elevation to the Chief position in 1989
